Lazarus was dead!
Was it in sympathy
with their raw grief,
faith's impotent lack?
Or could it be
because He
had to bring him

Man, talk about food for thought. I have often wondered why Jesus cried. It had never crossed my mind, that maybe, just maybe this is why He wept. I f I would have been Lazarus I would have been upset about two things:
1) smelling so yucky and
2) being removed from Heaven and the presence of the Father because of people's unbelief
But then I'm sure I would have gotten over it, all for Jesus!

Wow what an awesome post! I never thought about the story of Lazarus in that way. I think that is a wonderful thought! When did you visit Israel?? I really want to go in the next few years! I have the travel bug!

ReplyDeleteI went to Israel the summer of 2007. I want to go back. It is a wonderful land. I traveled the entire country, West Bank included. Everything about it is beautiful. It is a safe place.
